SOCI C210 Course Information

Course Description

(A/CSU)

Through films, videos and documentaries students will use critical reasoning ski8lls to discover how the structures of race, class, gender and similar constructs have shaped and formed our society and our culture. There will be analysis, discussion and written critique of selected films. The emphasis is on issues of multiculturalism and diversity as illustrated by the films. This course will focus on topics such as race, prejudice and discrimination, classism and gender issues and satisfies the Cerro Coso diversity requirement. This course is cross-listed with INST C210. Advisory: Level 1 Reading, Level 2 Writing.
