This course is the first of a two-semester sequence to develope the basic
grammatical structures and vocabulary for understanding, speaking, reading,
and writing French. Students will also explore French and francophone
cultures and traditions. (Prerequisite: None.)

Level: Students should meet the Intermediate Requirements as outlined on the CC Online Class checklist. Students should have good study skills and discipline.
Special Requirements: Students will need access to a computer with a CD component. Students must be available at some point during 2 different 24 hour periods for a one-hour online midterm and final exam.
Assignments & Tests: Students will be expected to complete all assignments in the Workbook, Lab Manual, and the Video Worksheets and to submit the three folders via U.S.P.S. by the due dates given in the class syllabus.

Additional Comments: Students will need to purchase the textbook package (which includes a student's activities manual and CD's) through the CCCC bookstore. Students should probably have taken an online class before this one since it is a difficult subject with a complex website. Students should be self-motivated as procrastinators will fall behind quickly.
