CSCI C252 Course Information

Course Description

(A/UC/CSU)

This course explores topics of computer science within a framework of a six-layer hierarchy of abstractions. In addition to some motivational applications such as Web page design and interactive graphics, the course covers he fundamental issues of algorithms, hardware design, computer organization, system software, language models, theory of computation, and social and ethical issues of computing. The course involves some introductory programming in a language such as C++. Intended for computer science majors. (Prerequisite: CSCI C101, MATH C055.)
