This hands-on computer course is designed to provide an advanced
understanding of entry level creation and modification of database
applications in business. Action queries, table relationship properties,
automating tasks with micros are covered including Switchboard development.
Visual Basic for Applications is introduced to enhance database construction
and functionality. Managing with replication and synchronization as well
securing with user level Security Wizard is included. This course prepares
student to take the expert level Microsoft Access Office Specialist
certification exam. (Prerequisite: CSCI C155.)

Skill Level: Beginner. A basic understanding of how a computer and email work.
Special Requirements: You must have a reliable connection to the Internet, a reliable computer system, and some basic experience with e-mail including the use of enclosures or attachments in order to complete this course. As a minimum, I would recommend using either an IBM compatible computer that is of the Pentium class of processor running at 1 GHz or faster or a Macintosh computer that is running the PowerPC processor at 500 MHz or faster. You will need a color monitor capable of at least 800 x 600 screen resolution.
Assignments & Tests: Students will complete weekly practical applications, such as designing simple web pages and setting up web logs. Weekly discussion forum participation, a quiz or two, a short midterm research paper, and a final exam.
