This hands-on computer course is designed to provide a basic
understanding of spreadsheets. Spreadsheet design, creation, revision,
formatting and printing are covered. The learner will create basic sales or
expense reports, family budgets and basic business related spreadsheet
documents using Microsoft Excel features and functions. This course begins
preparation for the core level Microsoft Excel Microsoft Office Specialist
certification exam. (Prerequisite: None.) Advisory: CSCI C070 or CSCI C101
or equivalent.

Assignments & Tests: Spreadsheet software is taught online, over the world-wide web. Students upload completed course files to the Cerro Coso College server from their personal computer. To be successful in this course, students will need MS Office Excel v. 2007 software, their text, an internet connection (high speed preferred) and personal computer. This hands-on microcomputer course is designed to provide an advanced understanding of MS Excel 2007. Students should expect to spend about 3 hours per week on their reading and assignments.

You are taking advantage of the opportunity to work at home on your own schedule within an eight-week time block. This course assumes that you have basic computer knowledge, including file management, Internet and e-mail experience. Online classes are as demanding as on-campus classes. Students are expected to meet weekly assignment deadlines.
