Course Description

This course introduces the principles and methods related to the effective use of human resources in organizations. Students will gain an understanding of human resources involved in recruitment, selection, and placement of employees with regards to training, experience, and abilities. Topics of total compensation, employee-management relations, and global human resources management are also covered. Discussion, case studies, experiential exercises, and work team projects will be used to assist the students in understanding the material and developing skills. (Advisory: Level 1 Reading, Level 2 Writing.)

  • Additional Comments: I have found over the years that students really enjoy this class. It will provide you real-world HR experience you can immediately apply to any position you hold,whether employee, manager or business owner. The pace is steady, but not overwhelming.
