ENGL C102

Critical Thinking Through Literature

(A/UC/CSU)

 

3 Units, 54 hours lecture

Students will continue development of critical thinking and reasoning skills begun in ENGL C101 through advanced study of imaginative literature (novels, poetry, drama). This course will emphasize critical analysis, principles of logic, and presentation of carefully reasoned arguments. Students will write seven to nine essays and a 2000-word research paper (total: 7,000 words). (Prerequisite: ENGL C101 with a grade of "C" or better or equivalent.) Formerly ENGL C1b.
